North Winton Village Festival of the Arts - October 1st 10am to 5pm - Vendor Registration
This is our Fifth Annual Arts Festival. Each year more people come enjoy art, music and food in North Winton Village. You'll be entertained by three stages of live music as you walk from Gazebo Park on Merchants Road to Linear Park between Main Street and Mayfield Street. Linear Park Expansion Ceremony July 1st, 2011 10am by the Linear Garden.
To recognize the addition of green space to Linear Park between East Main Street and Mayfield St. there will be a ceremony in Linear Park by the gardens at 10am. All are welcome to join us. Chase Manhattan has deeded this land over to the City of Rochester and the City has leased this green space to the North Winton Village Association who has been maintaining the property for the past several years.
North Winton Village Association 2011 Annual Flower Sale - Satuday, May 7th, 9am to 1pm
Flowers will be on sale at the corner of Humbolt &Winton Rd. Stop over, buy some flowers for spring plantings in your yard or to decorate your porch. Procedes help fund the beautification of North Winton Village Gardens. Sponsored by our neighborhood landscape specialists . . . Clover Nursery & Garden Center.
Support the North Winton Branch Library - Listed to be closed - Voice your support
The City of Rochester has placed the North Winton Road Branch Library on the list of services/facilities to close so that the city can balance its budget which is 50 million dollars in the Red (negative). The North Winton Village Community is encouraged to voice their support for the Winton Road Library Branch in three ways.
First Sign a petition of support at the Library, Balsam Bagels or Summit Federal Credit Union. The Petition can also be signed by clicking on this link.
Second Attend Save Our Winton Rd Library Committee organizing meeting at Winton Road Branch Library 5pm Tuesday April 26th. At this meeting we will be strategizing the next steps to support the library.
Third Write to the City Councilmembers and Library Director to voice your concerns. Here are their addresses.

NWV 2011 Annual Meeting 7:00 pm Thursday, April 28th at Neighborhood Safety Center
The North Winton Village Association will hold its annual meeting 7pm Thursday, April 28th at Neighborhood Safety Center 1933 East Main St. This meeting is for Board members and dues paying members only due to space restrictions. Also hear updates on completed projects, learn about projects in progress and voice concerns.

Rochester City Police Chief James Sheppard visited North Winton Village
Wednesday February 23rd to talk to the neighborhood about crime prevention and the resources that Rochester City Police have set up to address crime in our area. The meeting held at Browncroft Baptist Church was attended 75 area residents, including Councilwoman Elaine Spaul, Carrie Andrews 21st district county legislator. Winton & Mayfield Street parking survey results
A Planning Committee was organized to address parking in this area. The addition of new eateries, Wintonaire and Bay Goodman Pizza and the rennovation of Winfield Grill more people are visiting and parking in the Winton and Mayfield neighborhood. Way to go. However the expansion of parking hasn't happened so this committe is finding the best solution for more parking that enhances the neigborhood. NWV Summer News - find out what is happening in NWV this summer!
Thank you UR Freshman class for helping beautify our neighborhood. Fifty freshmen from University of Rochester who were participating in the freshman class orientation to Rochester helped weed gardens and paint street posts throughout the North Winton Village area. Numerous street sign posts along North Winton Road are green and the Atlantic Avenue gardens along the rail yard are weeded. Linear Park is all cleaned up as well. The Planning Committee for the 3rd Annual North Winton Village Festival of the Arts is well under way. Anyone wishing to help please connect the web-site. We need volunteers the day of the event. The Main Street Revitalazation Grant has its first submission to the State of New York. The grant is a two year grant from the NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal Office of Community Renewal:$200,000 Streetscape Matching Funds for Façade, Building Renovation and Streetscape Funds. The Target area is East Main Street from Hall Street to Jersey Street, the City of Rochester, which is in Sector 8.
Our Linear Park is looking beautiful!
Thanks to our neighborhood volunteers and the City of Rochester, the United Way
and The Petco Foundation. Stop at the Park and enjoy the beautiful flowers and the path for walking and bike running. The park has became a wonderful stop for our dog friends in the neighborhood. We all enjoy the green space and they do too!!!
The Center for Youth Learn to Earn Project is giving the North Winton two youths to help in the neighborhood for the summer of 2009. They will be wearing idenification badges. You will see the youth cleaningsweeping, watering our pots, and maintaining a clean neigborhood.
We have obtained a $2,000 grant from The Rochester Area Community Foundation. The grant will pay for signage at our gardens and painting of the tranformers boxes in the neighborhood. Artists will be painting our tranformers boxes to beautify the neighborhood.
Sadly, we have lost our funding for our Safety Center at 1933 East Main Street. We are working with Neighbors Building Neighborhoods and the City of Rochester to submit and obtain funding from grants from other organizations. Anyone who would like to donate to fund the Safety Center, please connect the web-site.
Please help with the flower pots in the neighborhood. You can help by watering the pots near your home.

New Eastside RPD Commander -Thursday, January 1st
RPD assigned a new commander to the eastside division, Jeffrey C. Clark. We appreciate the dedication of all our officers have to safeguarding our community.
